Thanks momma!! For everyone who doesn't know, my mom is cool. And even though she doesn't have much room for improvement in any category, she is so much cooler now that she has posted on my blog. And she did it all my herself.

On Giving to Get What You Want.

About everyone I know wants to feel peace, love, joy and other furry emotions. Well, one of the best ways to accomplish this is to do some random act of kindness.

The other day my husband and I went hungry to the local buffet. At the buffet there were a group of hungry army servicemen chowing down. I got a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart wondering if my serviceman son ever dined out with his sarge and buddies.

Impulsively, I walked over and thanked the men in uniform for their service to our country. I told them that I hoped some day that someone would thank my son for his service as well. It was the least I could do. Well, the smiles that ensued were beautiful, albeit from dirty, weary, manly faces tanned by the sun.

What did I get from it? Nothing tangible. However, I got some of what I want most in the world. In the act of giving appreciation for those who serve all of us in this the greatest nation on earth, I felt peace, love, and joy.

I doubt if the servicemen will long remember my simple expression of gratitude. I will remember it for a long time, however.

If you ever need a lift, I highly recommend cultivating an attitude of gratitude and expressing it often. It pays off with wonderous feelings in your own heart. Is'nt that what we are all after - JOY TO THE WORLD, PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TO MEN?

Love ever - MOM

This is true about the salesman but waiters do this to. They tell you they are giving you something and make it seem like it is not supposed to be free but for you, “well we are such good friends and all that I will throw it in at no cost.” Well now you feel that you have to give them a bigger tip to compensate for the free whatever they gave you even if you didn’t even want it. I admit that I have fallen for this. Lucky for me I like to give big tips not because I was manipulated but because it makes me feel like a good and charitable person. BLING (what is with the bling thing?)
